Shipping policy

We pack and ship live plants from our Seattle studio with care, climate awareness, and a small ritual at the door — so they arrive looking like they want to.

Where we ship

We currently ship to all 48 contiguous U.S. states. We don't ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, or APO/FPO addresses — the transit times are too long to keep live plants healthy.

International shipping isn't offered at this time.

Processing time

Orders are packed and shipped from our Seattle studio within 1–2 business days of being placed (Monday–Friday). Orders placed on weekends or holidays ship the following business day.

If a plant in your order needs extra prep (a made-to-order arrangement, for example), we'll email you with the expected ship date.

Free local delivery

We deliver free of charge to addresses within King County and Snohomish County, WA — covering Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Bothell, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Everett, and surrounding cities. No minimum order, no fees.

Local delivery zone. Free for any order to a King or Snohomish County ZIP code — Seattle metro, Eastside, and the North Sound. We hand-deliver when we can and use local courier otherwise.

Shipping outside the Seattle area

Standard shipping is calculated by destination ZIP at checkout. USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground, typically 2–4 business days in transit. Carrier is chosen by us based on weather, destination, and plant size.

Tracking

You'll get an email with tracking the moment your order leaves the studio. Most packages move quickly once shipped — please refresh your tracking page rather than ours for updates after it's in transit.

Temperature & weather holds

Plants are tropical. Shipping live tropicals into freezing temperatures (below ~30°F / -1°C) or excessive heat (above ~95°F / 35°C) at your delivery address can damage them.

Plan for arrival. Live plants should not sit on a doorstep in extreme weather. If you won't be home, leave a note for the carrier or have it shipped to a workplace or trusted neighbor.

Damaged or delayed packages

If your plant arrives damaged, please take photos within 48 hours of delivery and email us at hello@heartleafplants.com with your order number. We'll arrange a replacement or refund per our returns & guarantee policy.

If a package is delayed beyond 7 business days from the ship date, contact us and we'll work with the carrier to locate it.

Address accuracy

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. We're unable to redirect packages once shipped, and we can't refund plants lost to incorrect addresses.
