Good to know

The finger test

Push a finger an inch into the soil. If it’s dry, water thoroughly until it drains; if it’s damp, wait. That single habit prevents most beginner mistakes.

Drainage matters

Keep plants in their nursery pot inside a decorative planter, or use a pot with a drainage hole, so roots never sit in water.

Start with two or three

A couple of easy plants in good spots will teach you more than a crowded shelf. Add more once you know your light.

Easy-care plants: FAQ

What is the hardest houseplant to kill?

ZZ plants, snake plants and golden pothos top almost every list: they tolerate low light, irregular watering and dry indoor air.

How often should I water an easy-care houseplant?

Most need water when the top inch of soil is dry — roughly weekly in summer and every two to three weeks in winter, depending on light and pot size.

Do your plants come with care instructions?

Yes. Every order includes a care card, and our free care guides cover light, water, humidity and common problems.
